After a busy past few months with Sam wrapping up paramedic school and Jennifer finishing up yet another school year, the Semingson's were due for another big adventure. This time, we decided to have Henry tag along for the ride while Teah vacations at home with Grandma & Grandpa Semingson.
Our journey began with a trip to LAX at 6:15 am (thanks Grandma Rosie) where we caught a flight to Newark. The 5 hour flight went fairly well with Henry befriending a nice lady from India and flirting with all the other passengers as he squirmed in our arms nearly the entire leg. The real excitement however, came at around the 3.5 hour mark when Sam all of a sudden broke out in a sweat and quickly turned stark white later progressing to a shade of yellow. The odd man behind Sam tried rubbing his arm to make him feel better but the real savior was the flight attendant who quickly swooped in with a can of Ginger Ale.
The rest of the flight was still touch and go with Sam feeling like he was going to need the doggy bag in front of him, but he managed to keep it together for the remainder of the flight.
Flight number two from Newark to Oslo, Norway was the longest of the day's three flights, but having access to a bassinet (more like a play pen) in front of us helped the time pass. The bouts of nausea were tolerable for Sam and before we knew it we landed in Oslo seven hours after leaving the states.
Our last and final flight was a quick and easy up and down domestic jump from Oslo to Bergen. We then caught a bus to the city center where we checked into our hotel room in downtown Bergen. The accommodations are nice despite the room being smaller than most of your walk in closets at home. When all was said and done, it took us 21 hours total travel time to get to our destination, but from what we have seen so far, the next two weeks will be well worth the stressful travels.
