The morning started off late due to the good times out on the town last night. Jennifer barely made it in time to the complimentary breakfast at our hotel and had to hide some bread in a napkin in order to sneak “sickly” Sam something to settle his stomach. After resting a bit more, we packed up our bags and set off to catch the train for Olympos.
We wanted to have plenty of food in our stomachs before the ride, so we stopped at a close rooftop restaurant to grab a couple kebab wraps to fill our appetite. Our trip to Olympos consisted of a short tram ride, a long and slow minibus drive to the outskirts of Olympos, and a final van transport to our treehouse in Olympos. We have been excited to finally make our way to the treehouse communities that this city has made so popular among backpackers abroad.

Olympos is a small beach town nestled in a heavily vegetated valley next to the Mediterranean Sea. The city is home to one of the largest ports of the ancient era and ruins are still scattered throughout the area to this day. After dropping off our bags in our quaint little bungalow, we headed down to the beach and into the national park housing the ancient ruins. We spent the late afternoon strolling along the rocky beach and wandering through the ruins of the ancient port.
Once back at our bungalow, we relaxed a bit in the common area filled with picnic benches, fire pits, and lounging areas. We met some travelers from Australia who introduced us to another couple that will be joining us on our journey tomorrow.
